All of our horizontal blinds come with optional manual cord-free operation, meeting or exceeding most industry standards. While there is currently pending legislation surrounding child safety and blind cords, there currently is no law regulated on a state or a federal level. However, here is a brief timeline of the evolution of cordless blinds and how we are doing our part to keep your home safe.
The Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA) decided safer standards in January of 2018
Manufacturers adopted the new standard on cordless blinds in December 2018
In 2019, all standard model window blinds were expected to be cordless
Safer cords when present on custom-order blinds means blinds only manufactured with child safe break-away systems
Per WCMA standards, custom cords should not exceed 40% of window height
Blinds are ideal for consumers seeking:
privacy
light control
durability
ease of cleaning
Blinds of Sacramento offers a variety of blinds to accomodate most budgets, including 1” mini blinds, 2” and 2 ½” faux wood blinds, and hardwood blinds.
Furthermore, our favorite Norman Smart Privacy cordless blinds have a re-designed headrail that is sleek and self-contained. Because of its new design and re-engineered installation brackets, it eliminates the need for a separate valance to cover an unattractive headrail and old style box bracket installation. Most of our customers love this because it provides a clean and updated feel without the worry of any additional components.
